So there isn't any chance of him not dying or coming back? Damn I lowkey don't like this cause it didn't necessarily have to be this sad :(

Now the interaction between Aqua and Crow Girl could mean something more... let's see... maybe bein reincarnated as Ruby's child? Or even funnier as Kana's or Akane's child?

Looks like the ending i predicted came to fruition, Aqua is dead (I THINK????) With 2 chapters left, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Aqua may revive but at that point why even bother? COME ON AKA DONT SCURRY AWAY.
Looks like my glorious queen Akane Kurokawa found it all out. She's truly a ride or die saying ''I wouldn't mind doing it for you at all''
High School DxD Hero Episode 8.

Sad endings can easily be confused with poorly written endings, but even this is more unsatisfying than sad. Kamiki was never really present throughout the manga and didn't feel like some threat worth dying over. This wasn't some masterful plan or anything. So Aqua's death just seems wasted, especially when everyone's characters are all about revolving around him.
As much as I like Aqua dying, this ending doesn't feel right. That's why I still feel like he will be bullshitted back to life. God I hope not.

Thatâs the biggest criticism I had for series since after tokyo blade arc: it tries to act smart when it is not.
However I commend Aka for going through with killing Aqua because it makes sense for the character. Doesnât make sense how itâs done but nonetheless good. Weirdly enough one of the better endings so far this year after how disastrous it was for other popular ones. Eventhough he could still cheapen it by reincarnating Aqua again⊠But at that point, I would actually be okay with it but it would ruin way too many threads in the process and may make the ending worse like by aloooot worse

I know in some stories protagonists die but they have to be atleast satisfactory. This doesn't seem like at all. Aqua had so much to do and he never got to do it. He never got to tell Kana how he felt. He never got to tell his own sister how he felt. He never got to properly thank Akane. He never got to live his dream of being a surgeon/doctor. How can Ruby ever cope with first losing her mother then her own brother. That's too cruel. And as I said, all those plotline I mentioned above never resolved. It just feels stupid at this point. See, even in Attack on Titan, Eren's death was understandable. He also met with Mikasa and Armin and said all he wanted to. And there was no other way either. That makes sense. This doesn't. I'm still hoping the mangaka will pull something off and it wasn't Aqua but his father's body that was discovered. There has to be some light at the end of the tunnel. Some hope. Otherwise this will be nothing but a depressing story with an even depressing ending. I'd regret reading this manga and would not even bother to watch the next seasons of anime again.

I can't buy into this as some brilliant and flawless plan. Who does this help? Almost everyone he left behind is far worse now than they were in the beginning.
Aka wanted to write a tragedy but the steps getting there were horrendous. What a disaster these last 2 arcs have been and this all started with that crappy kiss scene.

@Shaily I agree most of the points but I am sure that he is dead. Even he comes back to life he will be accused as a muderer so the best way to end this manga would be death of Aqua. However, killing this way does not feel right.

Don't worry guys, he'll come back as Ruby's child so he tecnically will be his own father. Peak writing
